Kiss Thin Golf Shots Goodbye

You won't win a golf game if you consistently hit thin golf shots. After all, the game is won when you have lesser scores for each hole. How do you avoid thin golf shots anyway? Well, we have collected several swing tips from the pros in order for you to avoid hitting those pesky thin golf shots. Take charge and learn about these moves.

The key to avoiding a thin golf shot starts at your starting swing position by keeping elbows, forearm, and shoulders balanced with an imaginary horizontal line separating your left and right sides.  Balance your body and your weight on both feet, even when one of your feet is tilted in the starting position.

Once you set up your initial swinging position, drop your body weight towards the ball as you swing upon it together with the very well known smooth divot afterwards. However, do not rise up on the process of your downswing because this tends to slice the ball thus resulting to thin golf shots. Ben Hogan and Tiger Woods are known for this kind power lean move and it is one of the quickest ways to avoid thin golf shots. So take some time to practice it and youll eventually say goodbye to thin golf shots forever.

Remember to synchronize your upper body with the lower body.  To do this, and in the initial swing position, stand as far away from the ball as possible and allow the arms to hang from the shoulders.  Move your weight to the balls of your feet, sure to stay off of the heels.  This kind of weight distribution gives you the push needed to avoid thin golf shots.

Successful synchronization is better achieved by keeping your backswing short.  A short backswing means your hands stop slightly above your shoulder blade.  As you start your swing, your knees should move along with your swing, with no dipping on the knee.  A shortened swing provides you with a steady ball and, if done correctly, avoids the thin golf shots each time.

By letting the upper body move naturally and keeping a short, flowing backswing the thin golf shots will disappear.  You should lift if the club slightly above your shoulder on the backswing as before and let it follow along the invisible target line.  As the club reaches your knees, but before the full swing, your body should begin turning away, careful not to get stuck before contacting the ball.  Some golfers have a hard time turning away their bodies during their downswing.  By turning too early or too late, a potentially great shot quickly becomes another thin golf shots.

Once you have mastered all of these swing moves, you will surely avoid getting thin golf shots in every golf game. Always remember that practice makes perfect.
